From hitting puberty to getting the symptoms of menopause, the gynaecological health of a woman takes a roller coaster ride and keeps constantly changing through different activities like the process of ageing, attracting diseases, and injuries if any. No matter what, every woman faces some kind of gynaecological disorder at some point in their life, impacting her ability to produce children and threatening their lives.

Gynaecological disorders found in women are those issues that affect the Female Reproductive System like breasts, uterus, genitalia, fallopian tube, ovaries, and others. No matter what and how much you maintain your health, gynaecological health issues will pop up like an uninvited guest, affecting your body’s sexual functions and others.

Common Gynaecological Disorders

Ovarian Cysts: One of the most common gynaecological health issues affecting women of different age groups is ovarian cysts resulting from severe pelvic infections, hormonal problems, and endometriosis. Ovarian cysts are sacs filled with liquid in the ovaries. There are several symptoms through which you can detect cysts, like bloating, swelling, pain in the abdomen, nausea, vomiting, and others.

Dysmenorrhea: Often considered a painful period. Dysmenorrhea is a situation or gynaecological disorder in which a woman suffers from extreme pain during the flow of time, impacting her day-to-day activities. Suffering from some normal pain in the lower abdomen, back, and other parts of the body is considered okay, but extreme pain is any indication of visiting a doctor. The most common symptoms of dysmenorrhea are severe abdominal cramping and pain, divided into two parts: primary and secondary.

Primary dysmenorrhea includes zero association with pelvic disease and is confined to adolescents and ovulatory cycles, whereas secondary dysmenorrhea is directly associated with underlying pelvic diseases like chronic pelvic infection, uterine fibroids, copper-T placement, etc.

Leucorrhea: Leucorrhea is referred to as a situation resulting in excessive normal vaginal discharge. The excess secretion includes white discharge that is not infectious, does not have a bad odour, and does not cause itching. Leucorrhea occurs during physiological means like puberty, ovulation, around the time of periods, during pregnancy, in sexual excitement, and others. The most common and effective treatment of leucorrhea is the maintenance of hygiene.

Amenorrhea: Generally considered as the absence of menstruation, amenorrhea is of two types: physiological and pathological. Physiological amenorrhea occurs before puberty, and pathological amenorrhea occurs when there is some association with different diseases.

Pathological amenorrhea is further divided into 3 parts: cryptomenorrhea, primary, and secondary, each depicting its terms. Cryptomenorrhea includes shedding and bleeding but the blood does not come out due to some obstruction in the passage, primary amenorrhea refers to the upper age limit for menarche if it does not happen then it is the case of primary menarche. Secondary amenorrhea is the absence of periods of 6 months or more.

Vaginitis: Vaginitis is known as infection and inflammation of the vagina and occurs due to infection, sexual intercourse, taking antibiotics, changing hormones, and others. It is categorized into two parts: Trichomonas vaginitis and candida vaginitis.

Trichomonas vaginitis is caused by the organism Trichomonas vaginitis, resulting in sudden vaginal discharge, irritation, itching, painful urination, and others, whereas Candida vaginitis is caused by the organism Candida albicans, resulting in vaginal discharge with severe itching and painful sexual intercourse.
